Christian Aid Market
(Churches Together in Marshalswick)
It wasn’t the best weather for an outdoor market but at least it didn’t rain
this year. Each year the six churches of Churches Together in Marshalswick
set up a market outside St Mary’s near The Quadrant to raise money for Christian
Aid. The stalls are Toys, Bric-a-brac, Cakes, Books and Plants, with Refreshments
and Lunches on sale in the church hall.
A
brisk start to selling was made before the opening time of 10 am and continued
apace throughout the day until 3 pm. Not only was there the weather to contend
with, but it was also Cup Final day. Nevertheless the various stalls managed
to raise just over £800.
The Mass Centre as usual had joint responsibility with St Leonard’s in Sandridge
for the cakes stall which brought in over £140. Many thanks to everyone
who supported us by making or buying cakes..
