Fr. Jerry's Golden Jubilee.. and he was lost for words!
Fr. Jerry has difficulty finding words to thank all those who came to give thanks to God for his 50 years of ministry. He's now on a well deserved holiday in Ireland so hasn't had time to personally thank us for all the cards and gifts. It was a wonderful night! Big thanks
to the MSCs for putting on the refreshments, to Stella Cowley for the beautiful
cake and to Pat Kennedy for the splendid photos. Lots of love to you all.
Fr Jerry will be back in August!

Fr. Jerry Daly
F.r
Jerry is a native of Kilcrohane, Co.Cork. When asked to reflect on his priesthood,
he immediately talked about going to Indonesia in 1961 to help Dutch MSCs.
"Each of us had about 5,000 Catholics scattered in different villages. Conditions
were difficult. Everyone got malaria. Food was what the village people gave
you .. they were most grateful for our ministry
“We helped to promote simple village schools. On St Patrick’s Day the people
did a play for us on his life … even St Patrick himself would have been touched
by their simple yet deep faith. My years in Indonesia gave me a great
sense of fulfilment. Our province there is now the largest with hundreds
of vocations
“When I went to Tzaneen Diocese in South Africa in 1986 there was a slow
influx of refugees from war torn Mozambique. To see those traumatised
and hungry people made it the most difficult ministry I was ever involved
in. Some wonderful Irish volunteers gave us several years of unselfish
help
