Mar - Apr 2003:   Knowing God Better - KGB

The parish has put together 2 courses - 1 for adults, and 1 for 13-15 year olds

Adults' course A seven week course for Lent, starting on Ash Wednesday, 5th March, in the Parish Hall at 8.15pm.  This is a video version of the highly successful series that David Payne gave for the parish in 2001.  Week by week the course focusses on God’s Love, Forgiveness, Help, Word, Spirit, and Hope.  This will be an excellent way to prepare  ourselves for this penitential season.

Young Adults' course. Similarly, we've also put together a seven-week programme for young adults in school years 8 to 10.  “Knowing God Better For Youth” (YKGB) is also put together by David Payne this time with Jenny Baker from Catholic Faith Exploration (CaFE).YKGB is full of fun and stimulating, using video, icebreakers, group talk and prayer to share what makes us “tick” on the inside.  It will begin on Sunday, 2nd March in the Parish Hall, until Sunday, 13th April, from 5pm to 7pm..  The makers of this programme wish to video some of the sessions, which, if it is successful, will be introduced to the other parishes and schools.  So if you are a young teenager and interested, come along with a friend.  Parents, please consider asking your children to come along.

“KGB will help people to know God in a way that is personal and to experience His power in their lives. It will help Catholics become more enthusiastic about their faith and could form the basis of a mini parish mission.”  Mgr Keith Barltrop, Director, National Agency for Evangelisation
