Support For Our Parish

We seldom get letters of praise about Parish life. But we did receive one recently from John Kentleton who lives in Shrewsbury and attends our Church at 10am on Sundays when he visits family here. He referred to the Diocesan Green Paper, which was discussed last weekend at an open Parish meeting.

Would all those who are involved with the liturgy at 10am mass and especially those helping with teaching of the Word for God’s little ones, please take a bow!

Part of the letter reads:

May I say that whatever the Green Paper might suggest and whatever your response, I hope you won’t be deflected from the truly impressive example you already afford of a Parish community. It is really encouraging to note the way that people of different ages, race and sex are included in your celebration of the Mass, the vibrancy of the service and the welcoming Christian atmosphere that pervades the congregation. I congratulate you in creating and sustaining such a lively, inclusive and inspiring Parish.’

Mr. Kentleton concludes by saying that a copy of the letter will be making its way to the Cardinal’s office.
