Confirming our Faith - It's Your Choice Teenagers in Year 10 (14/15 years of age) are invited to
apply for the 2008 Confirming
Our Faith Programme.
Application forms are available from the back of the Church, mass
centres or can be downloaded
here.
All application forms should be returned to the presbytery by 8pm on
Sunday, 16th December at the latest.
Can we ask you to prompt friends and parents of friends if they have
not collected a form. Sessions will be held in the Parish Hall on Sundays
from 4pm to 5.30pm..
The sacrament of Confirmation is
a key moment in the life of a young Christian. It is now that the
responsibilities of following Christ are publicly acknowledged by the
individual for the first time. The sign the candidate makes is the renewal
of baptismal vows. The sign the Church makes is prayer & the anointing
with chrism. The Holy Spirit touches the candidate with his gifts.

The preparation for this sacrament must
be undertaken with great care, to ensure that the candidates know what
they are doing and can begin to come to terms with the way they will
be expected to live as their pilgrimage continues.
Young people should discuss this with your parents and
decide for yourselves if you are ready to take this journey. If you
don't feel ready at this time, it is possible to leave it for a year
or two until you are. There is no maximum age for Confirmation.
