Neocatechumenate
"God loves us all so much, that he sent His only Son for
our salvation!". We have heard this said time and time again to the point
where we lose its truth - we become numb to God's Word. The NeoCatechumenate
becomes a "Way" of initiation to a mature faith - through "instruction" -
(catechesis), and living as the Gospels show us. We have introductory
talks regularly and you are invited to come. Christain, Jew, Muslim, believer
or non-believer, please come and listen. Links

Newman
Association (Hertfordshire Circle)The Association is a registered
charity which encourages an educated laity, with a deeper understanding of
their faith, through conferences, talks, discussion groups for members, retreats
and quiet days. There are social events and, on a national level, conferences,
pilgrimages etc. A Journal is published three times a year (see web site).
While co-ordinated at a national level much activity is organised locally.
Meetings usually take place on Sunday evenings in a local church
hall, but occasionally on days. There are close
on 900 members nationally, of whom 87 are members of the Herts circle. Although
only Catholics may be full members, all Christians are welcome to join and
take part in its activities. While most of the Herts Circle’s meetings
are open to all, the Newman depends on subscription income and it needs new
applicants for membership to help it maintain and develop its programme.
Currently membership costs £18 per annum for a single membership,
or £22 for joint husband/wife membership. Links N/A

Small Christian Communities There are at least 18 small
Christian communities (SCC) meeting to faith share and reflect on the Gospel
readings. The majority of these were originally established as part of the
"At Your Word, Lord" programme developed by the Westminster Diocese.
Each SCC consists of between 6 and 12 members meeting in members’ houses
for about 1½ hours. Members use faith sharing books and other resources
as a structured guide for their meetings. They continue to meet together
to renew their spiritual lives and to serve the parish and the wider community.
Details of times and days of meetings can be obtained by contacting ohne

many other charitable undertakings. Meetings are held in the

Spread We campaign on behalf of Third World
agencies, encouraging people to spread this message of hope: ‘If the cost
of ending world starvation were divided equally among all the people of the
developed nations, then it would cost us each only £1 per month.’ We
use these funds to sponsor small, low technology projects in partnership
with people living in the poorest parts of the world. These provide safe
water for drinking and irrigation within areas such as Ghana, the Sudan,
India, Ethiopia, Zaire, Indonesia and Uganda. Dates and times of presentations
are announced in the parish bulletin. We have 72 regular contributors
locally of whom 15 will support any activity we undertake

! For 9 to 14 year olds - I want to have fun and… What should
I believe? Wasn’t Jesus just a teacher who told us how to be nice and kind?
.. and How do I know it’s true? Scientists know how we got here …and so whY
should I be dragged to Church? There are much better things to do, like lying
