Parish Mission 2015 - Photos and Stories from the Mission weeks

I felt the mission was a prayerful, positive experience for myself and family
Faith stories presented a real example of how the Gospel had affected them personally

The Healing Mass was beautiful and should be repeated often in the Parish

Fr Ged’s sermons were inspirational and I liked the bringing together of those present as a community and speaking to people we did not know.

Some stories ...

It was a great time to refresh, to meet friends and strangers, and to be challenged if I am honest. The team were great at encouraging me grow even more in the faith I believe in.  I cannot stay where I was in my faith before the mission, I reckon God has a better plan than that for us all really.
Thank you to the parish, let's see what becomes of it. Perhaps other people will give their stories here.

For me the most powerful part of the mission was Friday's service "Sharing the Light" when 12 parishioners went out of the church to invite strangers to come into the church.

Between 20 & 30 people arrived and were escorted up to the sanctuary to light a candle - possibly the first visit to a Catholic church for some of them. It reminded me that our purpose as Christians is Mission and not Maintenance.  Taking a small step and allowing Jesus to do his part.

Attended Sunday afternoon service for those who serve in the parish – quite motivating.

The reconciliation service was very moving. Also the  ‘stations’ on Monday evening – especially the action one were very inspiring as was the praying for someone whose name you picked out and talking to people you didn’t know.

Overall I enjoyed being part of the visiting team, especially some of the visits and the visit of the team to my house. I also liked the early morning Masses.

Found the service on Tuesday (the only evening I attended) very inspirational – particularly the homily given by Fr Ged.

Particularly enjoyed the Monday evening service and the Sharing the Light was very powerful – showed how we need to leave our comfort zones

There was a great peace about the Mission – as if we were doing what we are called to do.

Involvement of parishioners in new roles. The Monday evening activities involved most people. Sharing the Light was moving. Liked the community feeling of the Parish
