Novena 2013 at SS Alban & Stephen Catholic Church in St Albans

Our 2013 Novena for those who have died

The Month of November is the month specially devoted to praying for the Holy Souls. We all have family, relatives, friends and neighbours who have departed this life and are now in need of our charitable prayers. I invite you then
to join in this Novena of Masses and prayers for the Holy Souls. You will do so by your attendance at Holy Mass each day during the Novena, or by saying the Novena Prayers at home.

Novena of Prayer for our Dead

I take my loved ones by the hand and lead them to you God of Love.

Here are ................{name your loved ones}. Accept my love and thanksgiving as I entrust them into your loving care. I want them to be free to be at home with You. I ask that you save a place for me there beside them and that you will be my loving presence in all the lonely moments that await me. Thank you for the gifts of ....................
{name your loved ones} in my life.

God be good to their souls. God rest them. God rest their souls and God have mercy on them.

The Lord bless them and keep them. The Lord make his face shine upon them and be gracious to them. The Lord lift up his countenance upon them and give them peace.

Eternal rest grant to them O Lord, may perpetual light shine upon them, may they rest in peace. Amen.

God’s Garden

God looked around his garden, and saw an empty space.
He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest, God’s garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.
It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home.
