Worship - a PPC priority
group for 2011
The Group aims to create in the parish a greater understanding of the liturgy
and its use and to support the clergy in developing and co-ordinating the
opportunities for worship.
Worship is more than singing - our lives must be dedicated to giving to God
the glory in our employment, our spare time, relationships, finances and
Service has to be servant-based and one that encourages honesty and forgiveness
when views conflict with those of others. A community should encourage
a personal commitment to openess to the Holy Spirit in the Mass and include
moments of silence.
We are blessed with having access at all times to the prayer room with the

adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament on the First Friday of each month-.
a day of recollection for Extraordinary
Ministers of Holy Communion and Ministers of the Word
time for reflection and sharing for
musicians, focusing on the new translation of the wording of the Mass.
working with Small Groups to have preparation
days for Advent and Lent focusing on the theme of the diocesan booklets.
(The days are open to all in the parish).
commencing co-ordination of the rotas
for each of the Masses on solemn feast days.
organising a rota for preparing
the church for the 6 p.m. Mass on Saturdays and for the changing of the banners
for the appropriate liturgical colour.
arranging a pilgrimage in the summer
for members of the parish.
WHAT WE WOULD STILL LIKE TO ACHIEVE
to have 2 representatives for our six
Masses to monitor feed back from the congregation.
to have 2 representatives from the
Italian and Polish Masses.
to receive input from the diocese on
ways to improve our liturgy.
to have High Mass once a month - perhaps
using outside resources.
to identify available liturgical resources,
e.g. CDs, books, etc and how they may be used for the benefit of all.
