Ss
Alban and Stephen Young Adults - SSASYA
Ss Alban
Stephen Young Adults - a group for young adults (20s30s) in Ss Alban and
Stephen parish and beyond.
Previously, the Group was called Divinity and Doughnuts....
... so, why are we changing the group name?
We're changing our name from Divinity and Doughnuts. As Divinity and
Doughnuts we organised a number of very successful talks which were Divinity
related and there was always an opportunity for some social time before the
talk which usually involved eating doughnuts. As the format of the
group has now changed, we felt it was time to rename the group to reflect
this.
Our name is changing to Ss Alban & Stephen Young Adults (SSASYA) and
our contact details are changing too, please e-mail info@ssasya.org.uk
if you'd like to join our mailing list.
What's changing about the group?
The core elements of the group are the same, in summary - The group was established
by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and is supported by them The
group is open to Catholics in their 20s and 30s
What will be the focus of the group?
Going forward we're focusing on:
-
|
Growing in faith - we plan to organise prayers before the
Blessed Sacrament and will think about starting small faith sharing groups
etc.
|
-
|
Spreading the word - we're particularly keen to spread the
word amongst the parish of Ss Alban & Stephen and beyond so that other
young Catholic adults know about the group.
|
-
|
Creating a sense of community - we'll think about how we
can build the social dimension of the group. We'll continue to have
a monthly (second Sunday) social at the Robin Hood pub.
|
-
|
Establishing a core team to help organise and run the group.
|
|
|
Second Sunday
Socials
We have a social every second Sunday of the month and
meet after 7pm Mass at Ss Alban & Stephen Church to go to the Robin Hood
pub. The pub is on Victoria Street and is about two minutes walk from
the Church.
